Database documentation tools?

Hi all,

I’m looking into database documentation tools and I’m wondering if you could please share your experiences and insights?

I’d like something that automatically generates documentation, where I’d have some control over the output format.

I’m looking for a good option, ideally for free but I could pay a reasonable one-off fee.
